Ex-Tigers Jaw member Adam McIlwee who now performs as Wicca Phase Springs Eternal has just released 'Its Getting Dark', the second single from his upcoming self-titled album. Known for exploring a vast sonic territory over his career, the new record is shaping up to have the same scope. Previous single 'Moving Without Movement' was a gothy synthpop track, whereas 'Its Getting Dark' is a sombre ballad, stripped back to acoustic guitar and Mcllwee's deep and distinctive voice; a rustic folk track darkened by his signature sense of melancholy and atmosphere. Despite being the sixth record under this moniker, Mcllwee describes this album as "a starting point if you don’t know what Wicca Phase is about. You’re still getting the melodrama that’s in all my lyrics, but you’re also getting this description of the world–what it looks like, what it feels like." The record features contributions from Darcy Baylis, Uniform's Ben Greenberg and  Zola Jesus and is set for release on June 2nd on Run For Cover Records. -Toby Evans-Jesra
